Synchro Arts RePitch 2 Breaks Waves VST3 (Cubase)

Just a heads up for y’all. Installing RePitch 2 VST3 from SynchroArts (LANDR) breaks Waves VST3 plugins in Cubase Pro. Samples fail to load into instruments and the meters on plugins like L4 fail to work. This occurred on my intel MacBook Pro and M4 pro Mac mini.

No problems in ProTools (AAX) or Logic (AU), so it seems specific to VST3 in Cubase 14 and 15.

Removing RePitch from the VST3 folder solves the problem for now.

Cheers!

Dave.

Hey @DaveDuffus,

Welcome to the Waves Forum.

I see you are in tocuh with one of our tech support representatives regarding your current post.

Feel free to share your experience and solution, if available, once done, in case it might serve others in our community.

Just a quick update.

Tech support are able to reproduce the problem and a fix is hopefully on the way.

The obvious temporary workaround is to remove RePitch 2 from the VST3 folder.

I’m also experiencing this problem with Waves plugins and Repitch2 in Ableton 12.3 on my Macbook Pro M1. I’ve used waves for a years without problems like this but recently installed Repitch2 and the crashes have started happening. When I use ChatGPT to review the multiple crash reports it consistently pins the blame on waves plugins crashing.

The trouble is, I am not on a waves update plan and can no longer update waves plugins even if they come up with a bug fix…

There is no fix for the problem thus far.

Of course, there’s every chance the real problem is RePitch 2, not Waves! Time will tell.

I’ve decided my Waves plug-ins are far more important than RePitch 2, so RePitch 2 has been benched from my system, for now.

I came to the same conclusion. I use a lot of waves plugins in my projects so cannot risk using Repitch2 until they’ve fixed it.

For now I’ve reported it to Synchro Arts support and they’ve been able to replicate the issues and have asked for the crash reports so really hoping they’re working on a fix.
