Soundgrid Studio no longer available for purchase

I forgot about QREC, but if I understand correctly, that means no more zero latency monitoring across all 12 channels, right?
Thats not the ecosystem I bought into.
I bought into the soundgrid platform, paid for the 32 and 64 channel mixers, and now waves is pulling the rug out from under me.
Not acceptable. If this is the route they are going they need to GIVE people a free crossgrade to the LV1 mixer that matches the soundgrid mixer they paid for.
That is the only way I see to kill off the soundgrid mixer and still treat their customers reasonably well.

Right. I was just saying, the IOX is not bound to waves plugins. With QREC, you can still use the digigrid hardware for recording. Done right, you can send a monitor mix from your daw that has pretty low latency for tracking along to a guide track, some reverb for a vocal, etc.

Trust me, I am way beyond frustrated with what Waves just pulled, and has pulled in the past. So, I am replacing them…even if i means mixing with stock plugins. Sometimes less is more.

Right on. I appreciate you showing me some options i might have to keep working if I cant unload my waves hardware.

WHY RME TOTALMIX FOR FREE , WHY UNIVERSAL AUDIO CONSOLE FREE ?

We are supposed to buy any hardware from Waves, a company that does not respect customers

We have a free MIXER program + SOME PLUGINS

that works well with after-sales customer service for at least 5 years

I HAVE DIGIGRID IOX +D MORE THAN 4000$ AND WAVES WANT ME TO PAY MORE TO USE MY OWN HARDWARE

THATS FUNNY

Yes, of course. There should be a free crossgrade from Soundgrid Studio to LV1.

Doesn’t even matter to me at this point.
After this debacle I don’t trust waves anymore, and I have already sold my IOX.
Selling the D-Cube next and then putting waves in my rear view mirror.

I have been a user of the SoundGrid Studio platform since June 2018 in a modest studio. This is Waves server Extreme, Digigrid IOC interface, SoundGrid studio mixer 64 channels… etc… I thought about it a lot, but finally decided to migrate the entire studio towards this technology. This represented a significant investment.

For a few weeks I have been hearing the news that the 16, 32 and 64 channel versions cannot be purchased (personally I interpret this as discontinued products without saying so openly). This leaves me with the fly behind my ear and I feel discontent thinking about what Waves will be up to.

I contact support via email, to ask for explanations as a customer. They take 3 days or more to respond (clarify that I am a WUP user and I pay religiously, customer service is supposed to be a priority…), in a short and concise email where they tell me that I can be sure that my SoundGrid studio version 64 will work with the V14 plugins and that the 8 channel version is offered as a free download. Waves executives, saying that and not saying anything is exactly the same.

Waves executives, money does not fall from trees! And when a study is committed to a technology, it is not to replace it the following year!

To all this, we have had to add the strategy of the subscription plan, leaving out everything that has existed and for having clients who, like me, have several thousand euros in plugins that we have bought and they tell us that when the WUP ends, goodbye, it’s over! There is no longer any option other than the subscription. This is a very acid stab in the back.

This same Wednesday afternoon, Waves backs down in a statement from one of the company’s CEOs, and in addition to the new subscription plan, they reconsider continuing with the ownership models and WUP plans.

With all this I am invaded by a strange feeling of bewilderment, distrust and frustration. Currently SoundGrid studio 64 channels, it works well, it’s complicated, but it’s also powerful. It requires dedicating time to integrate it into daily work, much more than what may initially be thought.

So with all these uncertain commercial movements, I don’t know what to do. On the one hand, it makes me want to sell everything and migrate to another type of solution, and on the other, I would like Waves to be responsible with its long-standing customers, who, after all, are the ones who have helped it get to where it is, from that moment on. eq from the year 1992.

Waves! Reconsider an effective solution that will leave all users of SoundGrid studio 16, 32 and 64 channels alone!

If waves want to do likely as only 8ch with studioracks. waves must solve the problem with mackie hui protocol to automate input monitoring. Mackie hui method is so bad to use

waves must consider using the ADM protocol as auto input monitoring sync with DAWs for seamless connect with DAWs

I sold my digigrid IOX, and Soundgrid dsp server.

and i bought steinberg AXR4, and another preamps, and another conveter.

I’m leaving Soundgrid universe.

If waves stops making the Soundgrid studio system and software. We not have to stay in the Soundgrid world.

We have lots of other solutions to make same goal in the market.

And It is me, Who decide to spend money to where. to run a studio business.

Though. I would still use some waves plugins.

I’ve been using it very well for a while. Thank you Waves.

BYE all. and Cheers.

Really a big disappointment
All other companies offer what is better and free of charge once you purchase devices from them
RME has fantastic support for devices that are more than 20 years old

I just want to add my protest here to all of your voices, faithful customers, that are screaming to Waves and not getting heard.

The “Subscription-Only Fiasco” was a great opportunity for us, customers, to see how Waves sees us. Any other company whose customers rely on their technology to provide a vital part of their work would have been warned in advance so we can program ourselves to adopt the new technology in a near future. This is not the case with Waves and your message was heard: You don’t care about your customers and we got it!

I’ve been deceived by Waves many times and one of them almost cost my professional reputation: A SuperRack bug didn’t allow me to open the app (just like i did the night before) and i had to re-do the soundcheck for the entire 12-piece band in a 30-minutes slot before their live recording with the biggest act i’ve ever worked with. Despite the generous and working-hard phone support from Waves, it wasn’t enough to solve it and it almost ruined the event. Maybe that’s why i’ve seeing entire SoundGrid systems been sold lately online and that make’s me wonder: “-Why these people are doing that? It’s great gear!” Well… their reason to do that might be the same reason that will lead me soon to do the same thing.

I’ve been a Waves user not only at my personal studio work, but with other clients too, managing their waves accounts and products. Ranging from M-Waves cards, Digico SD mixers, DLI, D, X-WSG… you name it. I would consider myself a Waves Ambassador, posting about the SoundGrid technology on my social media posts, Youtube channel, etc… I can’t keep doing that about a company that might ruin my customer success out of a sudden decision in pulling out a software like the Soundgrid Studio 32/64. That causes a lot of investment insecurity regarding the technology that i’ve suggested to them.

I come here to check if the conversation is still open. I really appreciate your courage to step back after the Subscription-Only fiasco and re-instate the latter form of plugin purchase. Good job on that. I still believe that Waves can do it right once again and bring these Soundgrid Studio 32/64 channels licenses back. Why don’t you offer all the customers that already have the 8-channel version, a limited-time opportunity for them to upgrade to high-channel count versions? Thats would be a fair opportunity and would send a message to the Waves community that the company hears us: The people that spread good news about Waves. We would love to keep doing that.

@mpearsonadams bring this up to your command chain in Waves and let them know that we are very disappointed. If they don’t listen this humble and low volume cry, we will make ourselves getting heard for sure.

@mpearsonadams This manager wrote to us and then he disappeared
It really is disrespectful

Sorry for the delay.
I’m apparently really bad at setting up accounts on forums with alerts.
Please do me a favour and DM me your setup, so I can work with you.

Please drop me a line via direct messages and we’ll set up a conversation.
Thanks

I’m sorry for the delay, at least from me, I’m apparently really bad at setting up accounts on forums with alerts.
I’m also sorry to see you go as a customer. We’re not stopping making SoundGrid Studio, we’re not stopping making SoundGrid servers, or supporting SoundGrid, and DSP.
If you feel there’s something I can help you with, please, really, drop me a DM

@Gilbert Hi Gilbert. I’m really sorry it’s been a month for this reply.
I’m clearly really bad at setting up accounts on forums and making sure I see alerts. I genuinely apologize.
Please do me a favour and DM me, so we can setup a call. If you would like. We’re a company, we make a lot of things. SoundGrid, is one thing I’m very passionate about. Anyone else who’s reading this outside of Gilbert, please note, that also.
Cheers

I could not find a way to send you a direct message, but i would be glad to set up a conversation about the topic. My email is tairoarrabal@yahoo.com.br. Thanks.

I have also spent a heap of coin with WAVES from the very first plugs, through to the Soundgrid/Digigrid system. The latter of which has been severely neglected.

So disappointing
