I posted a question about OVox in the forums, but maybe you can help me. I bought it and it sounds great, but Iā€™m really trying to figure out how to remove the mechanical sounds and just use it as a female to male and male to female voice changer. Any hints?

Hi @jarretttowe, you can pitch a voice up in OVOX, but changing the s-ex of a voice is not exactly what this was developed for :wink:

There are presets such as ā€œGhostyGalā€ but I donā€™t think that is the direction you are looking for.
The mechanical sounds can be softened be lowering Effects and mods knobs

I also found that adjusting Formant (along with the Pitch) can also contribute a great deal -
Try raising it a little with the Pitch for a more Feminine sound, and lowering them both for a more Bass-like voice timbreā€¦

just downloaded the demo. can i lock the key (ie A minor) while i scroll thru presets? if i want to check out sounds based around a vocal phrase, i want to hear it in the correct key (am sure iā€™m missing something). how??

MAPPER LOCK
Prevents Note Mapper preset values from changing while you are browsing presets.

Is this what you mean?

help! iā€™ve used ovox in 2 different remixes (in logic X 10.5), and just realized that, in both projects, my preset was not saved, and the plugin has reverted to ā€˜Full Resetā€™. any thoughts??? this is a serious problemā€¦ thanx!

I couldnā€™t reproduce this issue on my Logic 10.5 as Ovox opens with the setting Iā€™ve saved, despite the fact that Logic 10.5 is not yet supported. You can always save .xps presets via Waves System Bar and also contact support.

hmm. i am only using the waves system bar. but saving in logicā€™s window doesnā€™t work here at allā€¦ what OS are you on?

Iā€™m on 10.14.6.

Saving via Logicā€™s plug-in preset menu is not supported.
Are you able to save Ovoxā€™s setting in the Logic session?

no, iā€™ve used ovox in 4 different projects, and in every one, it reverts to ā€˜full resetā€™. i even tried in a generic logic project (ie not using my default template), and same issueā€¦ am on mac OS 10.15.5ā€¦

just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. catalina/logic issue? or?.. anyway, i contacted waves support; hope i can get this sortedā€¦ and soonā€¦

EDIT: found a submenu in waves centralā€¦ and seeing the DEMO is still there, ALONG with the puchased versionā€¦ and wondering if the demo is the problem (it expires today). any thoughts? and how do i uninstall JUST the demo?? thanx!

EDIT EDIT! not sure whatā€™s happening: i deactivated the demo license, rebooted. saved an altered preset, quit logic. reopened the file andā€¦ seems to be playing correctly. BUTā€¦ the waves window shows ā€˜Full Resetā€™ā€¦ and LOGICā€™s preset window now shows the correct preset.

EDIT: nevermind about logicā€™s window, it showed the correct presetā€¦once. ovox IS remembering my settings, but the preset window always comes up as ā€œFull Resetā€. at least i can work.

The demo is no issue, oce expired it is just an entry in your account and has not effect on the software.
