Voice off and plugins?

Hello, I make audiobooks for children’s bedtime stories. All my audio, including stories, is without music. Just muted voice. (voice off)

I’d like to know what plugins you recommend for this?

Knowing that I record from home and that I have this microphone : fifine k658
And what software are they compatible with?

I need audio software with multiple tracks so what can you recommend?

Thank you

Help me, please

Hey @webcom75,

Welcome to the Waves Forum.

Any of the Supported Hosts listed will allow multiple tracks. It is up to you to verify which one works best for your type of workflow.

Here is some plugins that you may find useful.

  • Vocal Rider
Automatically adjusts vocal levels in real-time, ensuring consistent volume throughout your recording. This tool reduces the need for manual volume automation, allowing you to focus more on performance.
  • DeBreath
Removes unwanted breath sounds from recordings, maintaining a natural flow and enhancing the listening experience. It’s particularly useful for long-form narrations where manual editing would be time-consuming.
  • NS1 Noise Suppressor
Offers a simple, one-knob solution to reduce background noise without affecting the clarity of the voice. Ideal for quick clean-ups in less-than-perfect recording environments.
  • Clarity Vx / Clarity Vx Pro
Utilizes AI-powered noise removal to clean up vocal recordings. The Pro version offers more advanced controls for detailed editing, making it suitable for professional post-production work.
  • CLA Vocals
An all-in-one vocal processing plugin that includes EQ, compression, reverb, and delay. Developed with mixing engineer Chris Lord-Alge, it’s designed to quickly enhance vocal tracks.
  • Renaissance Vox
A streamlined compressor, gate, and limiter tailored for vocals. It’s known for its simplicity and effectiveness in achieving a polished vocal sound.
  • Butch Vig Vocals
Combines EQ, compression, and saturation in one plugin, offering a user-friendly interface for shaping vocal tones. It’s particularly useful for adding character to voice-over recordings.

Silk Vocals for clearing up the vocals so they sound less muffled.

You could also try out StudioVerse Audio Effects. It’s a free plugin that comes with a whole host of “effect chains” that you can trial to see if you can find a pre-designed solution that gets you close to what you need.

Once you figure it out you can then purchase what you need to remove the audio dropouts. It’s likely you might need to make a few adjustments, to get it sounding a bit better, but you can always visit here again looking for further advise.
