V16 Plugins Slowing Down Pro Tools

I’ve made the mistake of updating my operating system on my MacBook Pro M3 Max from macOS Sequoia to macOS Tahoe, and updated my Waves plugins from V15 to V16. Now, anytime I have a Waves plugin open, my meters start acting up, they freeze for a bit, or move very slowly, can’t even scroll sometimes. I have a bunch of plugins which are all working perfect exect my V16s. I’ve tried everything through the Waves Central maintenance, but nothing has helped. I cant down grade back to V15 because it is not supported by MacOS Tahoe. I don’t want to downgrade to macOS Sequoia, I like macOS Tahoe plus is only my Waves plugins which im am having issues with. If anyone could please help, it would be much apreciate it. Thanks.

I’m running V16 on Tahoe and havent noticed anything unusual with the performance. Granted I do have a MacStudio M4 Max, I don’t think the issue is in the chip. It should run fine on your system.

It could come down to the plugin cache your DAW uses. Or possibly the local Waves Plugin Server data, maybe both.

Try deleting that and let your DAW rebuild it. But I would probably also recommend deleting Central’s cache and running a Rebuild after you delete the DAW’s plugin cache. And just to be sure, restart your system before running the DAW up again to automatically generate a new plugin cache.

If that doesn’t work try contacting support…
