Updates - general question

I have a good handful of Waves Plug-ins. I did not anticipate that I would be paying for updates on them yearly and frankly find this discovery to be a little deceptive on Waves part regarding their marketing strategies. I think my total if all updated at once is over $300.00. That is too much for me to pay for some plug-ins I don’t even use. A few weeks ago I did pay to update everything to v.11 so I would be compatible with Mac Catalina. MY QUESTION: If I don’t update a plug-in will it automatically be turned off somehow? Can I still use a not totally up to date Waves plug-in?

Dont worry, PlugIns still run without Waves Update Plan bring up to date.

as long as your operating system and version of your host application stay as they are and support the current version you have - there is no need to update to a new version or renew the plan.

Before you update the system or host - return and check these pages to see if your target OS / host version still support the Waves version you have.

If not, it’s up to you to decide if you wish to update those and also renew Waves Update plan coverage in order to be up to date and supported, or wait on updating the OS and DAW.
A step by step guide through this can be found here: https://www.waves.com/support/update-to-latest-version

Thanks. This is what I was hoping. So, I’ll just update when they no longer are supported by whatever OS I’m on. Thanks for the info and links.

Thank you. That’s what I hoped/figured… but wanted to make sure Thanks.
