Ooh, that new 5Hz shift trick in PSE looks like fun, and if Mix Unlock can pick apart individual drums in a stereo mix (too many electronic drum kits out there) it could be incredibly useful! Even just for patching up a console mix to make it usable, I’m going to have to play with that one.

And finally some pinch control for F6!

Hopefully there are some good performance improvements too, those are my favourite right now (at least until I give in and get a second processing server for live work…). Will have to see how the preset browser goes, but honestly it’s been getting worse with every update recently - both in DAW and on LV1. Fewer clicks would be great, especially to get to copy/paste.

Agreed on the preset browser. I haven’t tried this new version yet although based on the screenshot, it looks like copy and paste are quicker to access. I think copy and paste buttons should be on the toolbar itself. If I’m copying settings, I’m obviously not interested in loading a preset… same with pasting. Opening a separate popup for this is slow and gets in the way.. especially on LV1.

Congratulations on the new release! Fun story:

I got my update plan a few days ago in anticipation of a new version release… And late last night I was asking an AI/LLM to speculate & predict when the new Waves version would be released.

(I had checked earlier in the evening and there were no updates.)

The LLM was like, “It’s available NOW!” and gave me a list of feature updates. I thought it was hallucinating, or divulging embargoed information – so I took a screenshot, not believing it.

But it was real!

The update went live between the time I checked the website and when I was talking to the AI about it.

Here’s a link to the full release notes:

I really appreciate that Waves goes deep on bugfixes rather than just focusing on new features. (I abandoned a few other developers who ignored bug reports to continually release new products without supporting their existing lineup.)

The new features are great, I’m still exploring them…

The Live Stem Splitter is going to make quite a few out there happy. The quality wouldn’t be as good as offline versions, but it’s live!!
