Really loving the new V15 updates! I would like to request the following be added to the next LV1 update:
-more groups/aux buses
-make it easier to go from bus to bus or group to bus
-make it possible to go from bus to a stereo channel to have more options for busing.
-make it possible to resize/drag the second display/“channel” so I can have other things
open on the same screen. Snap-to-screen in windows
-Big “Tempo” button on the main screen.
I’m on Windows OS for host computer and can 3-finger swipe between screens on same monitor. I run 2 touchscreens plus a FIT.
I keep Channel View on screen 2 (right of mixer) and can 3-finger swipe to Mixer 2 Tab which I keep in All View to quickly see meters.
Undock in latest v15 update opens up more options but I have not played with trying different things in my “normal screen setup”.
I miss to be able to patch an AUX back onto a channel, for ducking tasks when someone is talking on the comms.
User button: Colors: I miss being able to give user buttons colors. Especially green and red color. Practical example: User button to mute a channel. When you press it flashes red - but goes back to gray. So there is no way to tell if you have just muted or unmuted the channel.
User button: CUE: You can make a Flip layer-user button, but you have that feature just above the User buttons. It would be good to have a CUE-user button, so you can stay on the front layer -and still listen to an AUX mix.
User button: Talk Back groups: Expand the function key-option with “Talk Back Preset: P1 & TALK”. So it’s a Hold to talk.
When you are in a AUX mix, you cannot press the ‘Rack’ button, under Modes, without leaving the mix… Annoying.
When you are in a AUX mix, and you press Clear Solo, you are still in that mix - but you are hearing the front mix. Yes, that makes sense. But in my opinion it’s a bit annoying. Maybe there could be an option to also actually leave the mix.
With V15 I find that Lv1 has difficulty keeping the colors I give the channels. (The show file is built in V15). If I give the channels nice and manageable colors, the next time I turn the console on, it may have turned half of the channels back to their original color.
I would also like to add some stuff to the list.
I really like the direction that LV1 has been heading lately with a lot of updates that have made the system more user friendly. But I feel that there are some more things that would make the system even better.
Metering: Input meters on inputs and output meters on outputs, right now the only option is to globally select input or output meters, but it would be great if we would have the option of input meters on inputs and output meters on outputs.
Meters on link groups: having link groups show the VU meter of the channels that they control would make it much easier to keep an eye on what is going on in the show
Muting channels while signal is going through them produces an audible click as the waveform is cut off. It would be nice if that would not happen and the mute would instead have a very short fade.
Mute indicators for the mini vu meters on layer buttons. Having the mini vu meters on the layer buttons on the right of the user interface is a really helpful feature. It would be even more wonderful if the bottom of the vu meter would also indicate if the channel is muted or not.
Meters on fit controller. Having meters on the LV1 Classic is wonderful, but all of the people that have been using modular systems and fit controllers also deserve this great feature. Even if the meter is monochrome.
A more granulare scope for scenes. Being able to scope all the parameters of the channels individually would make the scene system much more flexible.
Being able to change the scope of multiple scenes at the same time. It is possible to select multiple scenes at the same time, but you can only change the scope of the first one you selected. I would really make sense to be able to select multiple scenes and change the scope of all of them at the same time.
Aux tap point in the middle of the plugin rack. It would be great to have a tap point in the middle of the plugin rack for use in wedges, where you would want only some of the processing to apply to the aux sends.
I haven’t even got my LV1 yet, but big yes to these two. I’ve gotten so used to arbitrary tap points in my DAW and would love to bring that to live mixing, and clicks on mute buttons should be a non-starter (similarly on scene changes, though I very rarely use those so I’ll throw my votes towards mute buttons/groups).
I would like to request the ability to save an aux mix without having to use a Scene. DiGiCo calls this “mix presets.”
This feature should be easy enough to implement, as you already have the ability to copy a mix from another mix. Right now as a workaround, I have an aux that I will copy a mix from, save it as a scene, have it scoped to only recall the mix settings from that aux, then recall it and copy it to the mix I want it in.
Requests and “bugs”:
Request a Latch option for talk.
VU Outpur Meter POST Fader is not working
Request to change all input AUX mode at once (Pre,Pst and Psp)
Request a possibility to have a second PFL/CUE (Inears and Wedge)
It does, but it’s more annoying than anything. If I’m long pressing, it’s because I’m talking, and so half the time after I stop it stays latched. A single option that makes it always respond the same is a fair request (though I’m not really a fan of the soft button at all, so I’m probably just going to get a mic with a switch and ignore the whole TB channel).
This could be interesting. I’d assume it’d have to make the cue on each mixer independent, but I can’t really think how I’d use it. There’s no shortage of monitor or matrix busses that can be a static PFL (e.g. for a shout box), but without a second CUE button on each channel, I don’t know what value there is in a second cue.
