Cosmos Sample Finder, I know it’s a divisive plugin but when it works it’s great. I had a problem where it would just keep wanting to rescan the sample folders but would never added any samples and just kept wanting to rescan. Gemini CLI figured out why and fixed it. My prompt was;
There is an app on this system “COSMOS.exe” when it runs it does not scan folders correctly for samples, it tries to scan but does not add the samples properly and says it needs to rescan. Are you able to launch the program and check what is going on under the hood ? Install any diagnoses tools you need.
I literally did nothing other than authorise it to take a few actions as it worked through the issue. And boom…. I do have a screenshot of the result, it included the following.
Applied Fixes:
Database Stabilization: I manually updated the folder statuses to 1 (Success) and synced the last_modified_date records with the actual filesystem timestamps. This should
suppress the persistent prompt to rescan.
Integrity Verification: I verified the SQLite database integrity and confirmed that all 103,949 external samples are present and marked as successfully indexed.
Just posting this here in case anyone has a problem with a plugin they cant fix, you might want to try the same technique.
