Feedback hunter placement

In a vocal chain would feedback hunter and xfeedback be used before or after processing? Im running vox vsts and eq com and fx. How do I run it so it dosent over eq what the vsts are doing? Should I ring out with everything off or on? Ty

I normally run one instance on each (vocal) mic as early in the chain as possible, though I’m not necessarily convinced it’s best. In my case, I’m trying to avoid feedback from the main speakers. Having it first probably makes it less effective, since the processing will undo some of the work, but it also doesn’t hurt the sound too badly. The main thing to worry about is bypassing any expanders while setting it up.

If I was worried about my foldback monitors, I’d probably try putting one instance on the monitor output. Usually I’d use a normal/graphical EQ to “ring out” the monitor, so using the X FDBK plugin there makes sense to me. Clearly not going to do it to the whole mix though.
