Cosmos Sync Files?!

Ok, so not being funny but you say that Cosmos scanning has been improved, but, how bad exactly was it before? I’m scanning multiple reasonably large sample folders and it’s taking ages! And it wouldn’t be so bad, but, you scan a folder and you then take 4 times as long creating these ‘sync files’ ?! What’s all that about?!

In comparison, my main sample library software is Loopcloud which is, quite frankly streets ahead of this in terms of scanning speed and features.

A little annoying as I thought my Waves sub would enable me to get rid of my Loopcloud sub too, but alas…

Hoping the code gets way way way more optimised in the very near future.,…

Oh, this is on an M2 MAX MacBook btw and all samples on a very fast SSD..

Oh and also, the ■■■■■■ size of the DB?! You’re eating my SSD space at a ridiculous rate for these scans?!

I assume you’re running the most recent version??

What it does is scan each sample and uses AI to determine what kind of instrument it is, what sound qualities does it have (like is it bright or dark, clean or distorted) and it also detects key and BPM if its a loop. It doesn’t always get it right, but you can always group select samples, right click them and change their data manually.

Problem is it doesn’t always work as well as advertised for some people. The best bet is to get on with support, because they might be able to improve performance. If not, they’ll be taking notes to pass on to the devs so they know what needs fixing.
