Hi Waves,
I’m a big fan of the myMon app, and I truly appreciate how useful it is in real-world production environments.
Today, I’d like to share a suggestion regarding the myMon app. This is not only about usability, but is also closely related to resource recycling and environmental sustainability.
I’d like to suggest keeping the minimum required iOS version as low as possible, unless a newer iOS version is truly necessary.
I use multiple iPads exclusively for myMon control, and purchasing eight iPads solely as control devices is quite expensive. For this reason, I bought all of them from the second-hand market.
However, I have been forced to upgrade my devices twice because the minimum required iOS version has gradually increased with app updates. I don’t have deep knowledge of app development, but I would appreciate it if compatibility could be maintained for older devices whenever feasible.
With the latest update, I can no longer update the myMon app on any of my iPad Air (1st generation) devices. As a result, some functions no longer work properly—for example, masking unused channels.
After confirming that the current version of the myMon app can still be updated and used on iPad Air 2 devices running iOS 15.8.5 (the last supported iOS version for that model), I decided to place orders today for several second-hand iPad Air 2 units.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback, and I sincerely hope it can be taken into account in future updates.
