An AI “Reverb Enhancment” Plugin that has a sidechain and removes that sidechain from the original signal the best it can.
Example is I have my announcers on my broadcast as well as in house PA. Therefore when I try to turn up any effects mics, I just turn my announcers ambient sound up. However it would be awesome if I could use my announcers group as a side chain to a plug-in on my effects group and the plugin would then remove the announcers from the effects the best it can.
Hope that makes sense I am open to suggestions. I have tried the AI Clarity DeReverb in “Difference” Mode but it was to harsh to be usable.
Might be worth trying this with the new Curves Resolve, see if it will do a better job? I guess it’s not really going after reverb, but if you set the release time fairly slow then at least it should behave a bit like a frequency-specific ducker.
But yeah, I love the Clarity dereverb on single track stuff, but having a sidechain for it would be magical.
Yeah Clarity DeReverb Vx is their AI based plugin. I’ve used it and it’s very good in my opinion. Perhaps the reason you’re getting harshness is you might be over cooking something?? Or perhaps you’re using the live version??
After all, that is the downside with AI, it needs extra time to analyse, make decisions and process. Normally the extra latency induced isn’t good for live use, so they have to nerf it a bit, reducing quality just so it’s usable live
You could always try Resolve as Steve suggested, but also make sure the Strength Multiplier and Presence aren’t cranked too high
