I am using Waves Tune Real Time on a vocal live in SuperRack Soundgrid. The tuning is creating pretty massive artifacts rendering the software unusable. I have a ticket open with support but wondering if anyone has encountered similar issues.
As a new member I can’t add links or upload to the recording of issue yet, but it is very fast popping and click happening repeatedly as well as a ring. There is no clipping happening, all firmware is up to date. Sending and receiving audio via x32 rack and waves card. The artifacts are not on the unprocessed signal. The processed signal is sent back to x32 where the issue can be heard, as well as dual patched to a DAW on separate computer where the issue can also be heard.
I’ve never had artifacts that bad happen (either in DAW or in LiveProfessor via X32 aux outputs).
My usual guess would be buffer size issues, since those tend to cause pops. The ringing is weird, but maybe it’s trying to tune the pops? Could be an indication that the problem is on input to your processor, not in the plugin itself?
(The kinds of issues I’ve had tend to relate more to bleed, which it handles okay, but not perfectly. I’d love to be able to sidechain the input for pitch detection but have it correct the original signal, though that’s not something that’s going to help your case
)
Quite often this all comes down to the settings.
Try increasing the Speed, Note Transition and give it some Tolerance, so its not trying to crooect the pitch every 5 ms or something like that.
