Oversampling Request

Sonar/Cakewalk has both ability to choose

  • upsample when rendering
  • upsample on playback
or both for each plugin - effect or synth.

Then on top of that a “x2” button in toolbar to turn things on/off globally.

  • you are in control

Yeah giving people this kind of choice is the best approach I feel. Though I have the feeling that over the next few years this will pretty much be the default method with most developers.

Scheps Omni Channel 3, with 16x over-sampling please! :pray:t3:

Or you could just run your session at 96k, everything will get the equivalent of a x2 oversample and then a x4 will effectively be a x8 oversample. Latency will also be halved, almost.

The downside is x2 more storage is required for audio and the CPU will be working harder, but not as hard if you were using a lot of x16 oversampling across a whole mix. That becomes more manageable if you use freeze functionality.
