Hi there,
since I’ve been running an actual Waves Update Plan and lately received the information on LV1 V15 being available, I thought of doing the update. But, in the notes on System Requirements it says, that “Waves SoundGrid servers Gen 6 (X6) and earlier are not supported”.
My questions:
Does it mean, my Extreme Server (that is X6) cannot be used any longer for LV1 V15 and I would have to buy a new one? It worked fine until V14 and its performance was quite good.
So, what is the difference to an actual new Soundgrid Server? Do we need a lot more CPU-Power for V15? Or is it just a recommendation to work with higher performing Soundgrid Servers?
Thanks and Best Regards
Gerson
If you have the Waves Update Plan available, I’d suggest updating your license to V15. You can keep the installation as V14 if required, and when time comes and you are ready to upgrade, you can simply install V15 or the latest version available.
It will still work, but since we do not use gen6 servers to test the latest LV1 software we might not be aware of performance degradations, but it is less likely to be an issue with V15
It doesn’t necessarily need more CPU power for V15.
