Cosmos Sample Finder should use AI to find best takes

I was told by a Waves chat rep that Cosmos Sample Finder plugin does NOT find best takes. It definitely should! Working alone on my recordings as do so many of us, I have no one to tell me when I’ve gotten that keeper take and can move on. Sometimes we all do dozens of takes of a thing… could be a single word or note, could be a long passage… doesn’t matter - the point is we spend countless hours reviewing our work to select the best takes. An AI plugin that chooses the best takes for us would be a Godsend! An analogy would be when you take a picture on your iPhone, but your iPhone actually took many pictures milliseconds apart, and an algorithm displays what it thinks is the best one… except in this case it’s the best audio takes, based on user-selectable parameters, like pitch or rhythm accuracy, tonal quality, best signal-to-noise ratio, etc. One should still be able to listen to them all to see if one agrees with the selections, but in any case, such a feature could be a HUGE time saver!!! Cheers…

Thats an interesting idea… Or at least, creates shortlist of your best takes. Or maybe creates a composite of the best phrases from your best takes.

This would seem to me like its should be more of a DAW feature, but I can see a tool like Cosmos doing this type of thing in lieu of a bit in DAW feature

re: “composite of the best phrases from your best takes”, I hadn’t thought of that - great idea!
re: “should be more of a DAW feature”, I agree. Come to think of it, the features Cosmos already has ought to be as well.

You could always drop some feedback to your DAW developer and make the same suggestion.
