Hi everyone,
I’m experiencing serious performance and stability issues when using my Waves V15 plugins with Adobe Premiere Pro 2025, and I’m hoping someone here might be able to help or has encountered similar problems.
My Setup:
- Computer: Apple Mac Studio M1 Ultra
- RAM: 64GB
- Operating System: macOS 15.5
- Host Application: Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 (Version 25.2.3, build 4)
- Waves Plugins: I only have Waves V15 plugins installed, managed via the latest version of Waves Central. I have already uninstalled all unlicensed plugins.
The Problem
When working on projects in Premiere Pro, especially when navigating the timeline or during playback, the application frequently freezes for several seconds (UI unresponsiveness) and then resumes. This makes working very frustrating.
Analyzing Console logs, I’ve noticed some recurring errors that seem to point to Waves plugins:
-
dlsym cannot find symbol Errors:
Error messages repeatedly appear indicating that Premiere Pro cannot find specific symbols within the Waves plugin bundles. This happens for several plugins, including “WLM Plus.bundle” and “NS1.bundle”. A typical example is:
error 15:37:42.509833+0200 Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 dlsym cannot find symbol WP_ARABindToDocumentController in CFBundle 0x60000ae67b80 </Applications/Waves/Plug-Ins V15/WLM Plus.bundle> (bundle, loaded): <private>
This pattern repeats for many differentWP_...
symbols (likeWP_ARAGetFactory
,WP_AddPlugin
,WP_GetChainerInfo
, etc.). The specificCFBundle 0x[...]
address and theWP_
symbol vary, but the issue concerns V15 plugins. -
Main Thread Performance Diagnostic Warning:
Another very concerning message that appears is:
__delegate_identifier__:Performance Diagnostics__:::____message__:This method should not be called on the main thread as it may lead to UI unresponsiveness.
This makes me think that some operation (likely from a plugin) is blocking Premiere’s main UI thread, causing the “freezes.” -
Trust Evaluation Failure:
Sometimes, before thedlsym
errors, a message also appears:
Trust evaluate failure: [leaf AnchorTrusted]
I’m not sure of its relevance, but it might be related.
Steps Already Taken:
- Ensured all Waves V15 licenses are active and on my computer via Waves Central.
- Uninstalled all unlicensed Waves plugins.
- Performed a new plugin scan via Premiere Pro’s Audio Plugin Manager.
- Confirmed that the VST3 path (Mac HD > Library > Audio > Plugins > VST3) is correct and scanned by Premiere.
- Updated Waves Central, Waves V15 plugins, Premiere Pro, and macOS to the latest available versions.
Despite these steps, the problems persist.
Has anyone else encountered similar issues with a similar setup (Waves V15, Premiere Pro 2025, macOS 15.5 on Apple Silicon)? Do you have any suggestions for possible solutions or workarounds? Could this be a known incompatibility?
Thanks a million in advance for any help or advice!
