Hi,
Waves Harmony is very confusing to program in any set key and scale because it displays the harmony intervals in numbers of semitones instead of actual interval names.
Can this please be changed?
So that I can specify, for example, a 3rd and a 5th above the input note. As it is, that 3rd could be either 3 or 4 semitones (depending on which degree of the scale the input note is on). I know it has the option to lock the harmony notes to there selected scale … but allowing accurate interval display would make it so much more of a joy to program.
many thanks
Andy
Actually what bothers me is how plugins and DAWS always refers to accidnetal notes as sharps, even when the chosen scale is “flat”.
For example, a scale of Eb should be defined as Eb, F, G, Ab, Bb, C, D (Eb). Instead what they ALL seem to do is refer to flats as sharps. So the above scale would look like D#, F, G, G#, A#, C D (D#).
Not only is that just wrong , but it can get down right confusing at times. I remember times liking through some DAW regions for a specific flat note so I can experiment changing it to another note. When your mind is thinking Ab, your’e looking for Ab and the reason why you can’t find it is because it’s been mislabeled as G#.
Ion the modern era of technology they dynamically change the names of notes depending on the Key Signature that has been selected. Instead we seem to be stuck with this 80s way of doing things and calling ALL accidentals sharps. Very annoying.
