Solve latency in Waves Nx artist rooms

Waves Nx is awesome, I have all the rooms and I like ARS as well.

However – the newer rooms (Abbey Road Studio*, CLA Nx, Germano Studios, Ocean Way) were programmed in a way that requires over 500 samples of PDC latency @ 48khz. That’s 11.2ms of delay at 48khz. (This latency isn’t reported in ARS, and there’s about ~5ms of latency in the original Waves Nx which isn’t reported either.)

While that’s no problem for someone who only mixes, 11.2ms is an amount of latency that someone playing a live instrument like a guitar or keyboard – especially percussion – can feel…

That may not sound like a lot, but this is in addition to the round-trip latency already present from an audio interface. This subtle latency results a less precise performance(recording) for live instruments or keyboardists who don’t quantize.

Competitor products offer fully real-time performance:
Apparently with FIR captures (which I assume is how it’s done?) you choose between phase alteration or pre-ringing from linear phase. And Waves went with the latter.

Since you have the captures, maybe ARS & the Nx line could be updated with a zero-latency option! You could do it in the plugin itself, or release them as separate “Live” versions similar to AR TG Mastering Chain Live.

Please consider this. A zero-latency option for real-time performance, composition, and recording would be a big improvement.
