On YouTube I watched a video where this guy was using a EQ to De-ess the voice (spoken word). What stood out is how easy it was for him. The EQ also had what he called a heat map. Which looks very similar to Reapers Spectrogram. He could instantly pinpoint problem in the spectrogram (yellow up higher). Because of the way it worked he didn’t need to scrub back and forth to find a problem. Im not sure of his daw or plugin. I can’t find the vid. Would love Waves to make this plugin.

This is not such a bad idea. One thing that may be an issue though is that spectrograms typically increase latency. So it’s nothing you’d want to add to a tool if you also intend it to be used for live or even tracking in the studio.

This was a post processing fix.
Couldnt the spectrogram be toggled on/off and maybe replaced with something more appropriate for live?
For me? A specific tool for a specific task in post only.
Quite possibly, unless there’s some issue with changing the latency on the code level. Different DAWs might respond differently, for example.
I still think its great idea though.
