I actually still like and use the Metaflanger, however the GUI looks more or less like it did when it was released in the 90´s. Will there ever be a GUI update?

I agree that the Metaflanger is a great candidate for a UI refresh. Digging into it, I think the usability is already good. I find the UI easy to understand and operate, so (I think) it would just be a matter of updating the visuals to a modern look & high definition. That’s not as time consuming as a more significant rework (like Waves Tune desperately needs.)
In the meanwhile… Have you ever tried Waves Kaleidoscopes? If you haven’t, I think you’d love it. If you ever skipped it because you thought it looked overly complex – don’t! It’s actually simple to understand and operate if you dig into it for a moment.
Ever since it came out it has been my goto for all chorus, flanger, phaser, and tremelo needs. It’s really good and absolutely worth digging into. You can use one side of it, or you have the option of running a second in parallel or series, plus it has other modulations. It’s one of Waves’s great products I don’t hear mentioned often.
And it has a modern high resolution interface!
That said, I do like the simplicity and purity of purpose MetaFlanger has, so I’d cheer a UI refresh. Really, I can’t wait 'til the whole lineup gets the high-definition treatment.
All the new UIs look fantastic, so kudos to the Waves UI team. More, please!

It helps to understand that Kaleidoscopes is actually TWO modulation effects in one. The left panel and the right panel. You can them in series and parallel. Ot you can just turn off one panel and use it as a SINGLE effect.
You could also position the High Pass of one effect so that it overlaps with the Low Pass of the other effect and effectively run it as a multiband plugin. Or pan one effect to the left, the other to the right, give it slightly different settings for a wider stereo effect. Use the High Pass if it’s starting to cause too much phase cancellation in the bottom end.
It really is quite flexible

Whoa! I’ve been using Kaleidoscopes frequently ever since it came out and I love it – but I never thought of the low-pass / high-pass effect splitting idea.
I’ve done similar things in StudioVerse before, but having that feature right within Kaleidoscopes is really awesome! I also never tried panning the two effects differently, so that’s something else I’ll try!

It won’t be an ideal crossover as it won’t be linear phase.
The thing is, though, with modulation effects you’re always messing with the phase of the signal anyway. So there’s usually some place you can park your HP/LP filters where it sounds the most natural. Even if you end up setting them so the frequencies don’t overlap perfectly.

Meta flanger is a perhaps a one trick pony but that’s what I like about it. I know exactly what it does.
I do however have Kaleidoscopes. I must admit it’s slipped under my radar until now so I’ll give it a chance. Thanks for the reply!

A good tip would be to turn off one of the modulators making it much simper to dial in the sound on the other. Then idd the second effect in when your ready to up the ante and create something slightly more complex.
Perhaps try out the presets too, see what’s possible, see if something fits your needs.
