As above, there is a lot of flexibility in maxxbass…but if it can also exactly emulate rbass…I would like to simplify where possible and just use a preset in maxbass instead
Does anyone have an exact equivalent?
I was just wondering about this myself the other day.
You could always put the two on an identical source, flip the polarity on one and adjust the unique MaxxBass settings until you have something that almost phase cancels out.
It may not work, but its worth a try. I might give it a go myself if I get the chance.
I ended up just using Plugin doctor…works quite well
I could never be bothered with Plugin Doctor. As a person who tends to OCD a bit I figured it might distract me too much and make me obsess over all the wrong things.
As I see other people can do.
Yeah I used to be
Current adage is
“Make it real…not perfect”
It just helped to get curves to match…oh and a lot easier to understand whats really going on.
I don’t look at numbers anymore really, just listen with hardware control and eyes close just works
Yeah exactly. I even eq different than most. I hunt for that elusive frequency by pulling it first, not completely probably about 3-6dB.
If it sounds “cleaner” then I’ve found my frequency. Then I reset the gain and pull it out again, this time more precisely and discerningly. Of course, I’m not afraid to boost where something lacks either, but I always start by “cleaning up the sound” first. Been doing it for decades.
Never really understood the narrow boost seek and destroy method as everything sounds bad with a narrow band of frequencies boosted.
Yeah im agreeing with you.
I eq with mic and placement first lol…it is so incredible the contour and spectrum…everything stereo and plenty of ribbons involved
Cheers
Sounds like we are on a similar page…any links of your stuff? Love a listen
