Im trying to make Curves Resolve work in Garageband. I try to follow youtube tutorials but I don't have the sidechain option (or at least haven't found it) in Garageband. How do I use the plugin without this?

Unfortunately GarageBand doesn’t support sidechain functionality. You would need to use its much bigger sibling Logic Pro, or one of many other DAWs. I would suggest that you could maybe run it inside StudioRack, but unfortunately it doesn’t have an internal sidechain either.

You can, however, use the Scan feature to scan a relevant audio file in which it will formulate a steady sidechain curve which can be used as its reference point. It’s the button to the right of “Learn”.

So say if you were using Resolve to keep the music track out of way of the vocals, you would place it on the. music track and feed it a copy of your vocal audiophile to use as a reference. If you wanted to keep your bass out of way of the kick, then put Resolve on the bass track and point it to the kick drum audio file in your project.
