H-Delay is causing a constant white noise

I’ve been having this problem where once I begin to add effects to a mix I’m hit with steady white noise. It persists whether I have the master effects on or off. I concluded that the white noise stems from H-Delay, which I have a few channels in my mix with H-Delay on. What can I do to remedy this? Thank you.

Hi @kanyedrofdeb,

Welcome to the Waves Forum.

You can switch the Analog parameter to off which will eliminate the white noise.

Although, it’s worthwhile mentioning that the Analog feature also selects the delay type emulation, 1 & 2 being an early analogue delay while 3 & 4 are tape emulations. They just also happen to make noise like the original devices.

Personally I don’t mind the noise in many situations. It adds an air of real equipment to otherwise sterile recordings. But then, I work with a lot of virtual instruments. Running things hard into a compressor/limiter will also bring up what is otherwise quiet noise too.

Its really comes down to a case of just choosing an approach thats best for you.
