The Waves VU meter is great… but imagine if it had +/-20dB trim (or full range of gain, either way.)
Then you could use that plugin not just to read your level, but to set your level.
This would be incredibly helpful for use with non-linear Waves plugins that don’t have dedicated input meters or input controls.
I understand there is a cost to new UI… But implementation could be dead simple! Simply dragging up or down on the meter could display the + or - gain in dB (with a single decimal, i.e. +6.8dB ) Simple numerical reading. Nothing fancy needed.
Double-clicking would reset it to zero.
This wouldn’t be an enormously costly addition to the plugin, but it could be very useful. Please consider!
