Streamlined "Mono," "Mono/Stereo," and "Stereo" Plugins

Would it be possible to unify the “Mono,” “Mono/Stereo,” and “Stereo” plugin formats into a single, consolidated plugin instance with a selectable mode switch? This would significantly streamline the plugin list, reducing it from multiple format versions to just one consistent plugin name.
It would make session navigation and plugin management more intuitive and efficient.
I personally use Studio One 7 Pro, but I assume it’s the same across all DAW’s.

I would love this to happen, been wanting this for over a decade. Although, I’m not entirely sure it will happen.

I believe this might have something to do with backwards compatibility with ProTools. I may be recalling incorrectly but it would make total sense to why they haven’t dealt with this over the last 30 years. I mean, ProTools, right?! The industry standard that is holding back the industry!?! :confounded_face:
