Key Receive? What does it mean?

Hi,

What does “key receive” mean in the Waves Toolbar?

I cannot find any mention of it in any of the online material. Maybe it’s just a V16 feature that hasn’t been mentioned yet?

Waves has a plugin Key Detector. The “Key Receive” feature essentially enables the plugin to receive key changes from the Detector plugin.

While I’ve messed around with Key Detector a bit before I haven’t actually put it to this kind of use to tell you how effective it is. What I really wanted was a chord detector plugin that could also track key modulation and advanced jazz style chords. That would make it alot quicker and easier for me to transcribe music whenever the need arises.

It’s really frustrating when song writers don’t know enough that they can’t even communicate to session players and arrangers simple things like chord progressions and you often aren’t paid enough to mess around and transcribing a piece just to find out. So one day I hope they will make something that can detect chords.
