Anyone willing to share their experience InTrigger for live sound?

I am considering getting the Roland acoustic drum triggers and using InTrigger for live bands. Just unsure how it all works. Are samples included? Are there any additional pieces of softwares needed?

What are you are unsure about?

There are tutorials out there, you can download the manual before.

We used it on 2 tours now (one arena tour, one club tour), works like a charm.

There are some samples with it, but you can use everyone you can imagine (the f.e. used some Slate samples and some of Superior Drummer).

Use your Roland trigger as “microphone”, insert InTrigger as first instance on that channel and set mix to 100% (pure sample sound).

But you can easily insert it on you f.e. snare and just mix in the sample this way without using a trigger module. Gate function in InTrigger is superb.

One thing we noticed - even with Titan X10 servers, triggering all (kick, snare, 4 toms) could lead to crackle on bigger tom fills. It seems that streaming samples is still not optimized, so it needs pretty decent peak power (average is very low). So with about 45% average load on the Titan X10 it couldn’t handle big tom fills without crackle.
We just skipped the tom samples, as we don’t needed them (I just used them as “clean” feed for verb).

On other thing: Intrigger is about 1ms latency which is unbeatable. We used Pearl MiMic pro before with 4.5ms latency and Roland TD-50 (the flagship), which also hat 4.6ms latency.
And with Intrigger it’s easier to align to your original signal.

Thanks so much! You covered all my questions. I will be using an LV1 classic and not a large number of channels. My CPU usually stays 30-40%.

The Velocity mode is kind of unpredictable. The CPU goes up and down when using this. So make sure you have PLENTY of headroom if you use this mode.

Other than that it’s pretty straightforward. A lot of samples included.

Thanks for the tip …. will definitely watch for this!
