L4 is awesome. But your multiband limiters are also great, and it would be good to have them brought up to modern standards like L4!
I’m thinking of L316 and L3-LL specifically.
L316 a perfect full-featured limiter. It just needs the modernization that L4 got… And I mention L3-LL because the low-latency makes that tool useful while composing/mixing.
You could probably do that all in one updated multiband limiter… Similar to how L4 can be set as low as 34 PDC samples at 48khz, or dial up the oversampling and other features for more processing.
A L316 / L3-LL type combo would be great.
I’ll take an updated multiband limiter from Waves however I can get it, but I do think it makes sense to put in a separate product. One of your competitors recently added a multiband limiting algorithm to their limiter and… It’s good, but it doesn’t have good visual feedback like a multiband limiter needs. (L316 was really good in that regard.)
