Which LV1 Classic road/fly case are you rocking and why?

Did you get the chance to test several, and why did the chosen one serve you the best?
Be honest: how many of you 3D printed a beer holder? :clinking_beer_mugs:

Case Closed! Jesse Chuku as Judge

I got the Scott Dixon one for mine: Waves LV1 Classic Flight Case - Scott Dixon

Ended up just getting plain black, but was very tempted by the green. There’s enough gap in the foam to fit power cables and a mini PC too.

Don’t ask what I put the IONICs in  They won’t survive an actual flight, but are fine for road trips.

Custom case – old photos. Both arms are permanently attached to the case. I just fold them back behind the desk.

It takes two people to set up the mixer like this, but once it’s in place, the whole setup takes only about 5 minutes: connecting the power, DMX and Cat5 cables.

Everything I need is in the case, except for my laptop.

You don’t have (and are willing to share) the diagrams for this, by any chance? It’s basically exactly what I had in mind for if/when I get to travel “properly”, and couldn’t find anything like it.

I especially love how the clip on the bottom part holds the top in place. Nicely done!

Unfortunately, I don’t have any diagrams for it. Both arms are standard laptop/monitor mounts (around €20 each) that I bolted directly to the case. It’s not an exact copy of the Santosom case, but it was definitely inspired by that design.

One extra feature is a pull-out drawer with a keyboard for the PC/LV1 Classic. Originally, I wanted to integrate a FIT controller to get more faders, but for now, the current setup is enough for me. I rarely use the keyboard, but it’s really convenient when editing or typing — I don’t have to use the on-screen keyboard.

The downside is that the case is a bit taller because of the drawer. If I put it on a standard table, the mixer would sit quite high. For gigs where I sit behind the mixer, I use a smaller road case as a base and place the upper part of the mixer setup on top of it.

The height of this setup is designed around my own height, as I usually stand behind the mixer. That also means there’s more space in the doghouse behind the mixer.

Glad you like the design! :slightly_smiling_face:

Looks great! Did you already replace Reaper with Tracks? :upside_down_face:

I’ve downloaded and set up Track Live 2 for now, but unfortunately, my USB-C adapter seems to be causing issues with the LV1C. To be on the safe side, I’ve disabled recording because I don’t want to risk any audio artifacts during a live show. I’ll test it more thoroughly once I have a rehearsal with the band.
