“It doesn’t sound like a plugin.”

— Greg Wells (Adele, John Legend, Wicked: The Soundtrack)

Created with the classic algorithmic DSP approach, Atlas gives you a wide range of original reverb programs, each carefully tuned by human ears for tone, density, reflection behavior, modulation, depth, and feel.

Already downloaded, installed, and been playing with it for a couple of hours (Yoad got his video out early). It sounds great, and is flexible enough that it’s replaced all my other reverbs. Fantastic work!

I can withdraw my request for a Valhalla Supermassive clone now

I had a chance to try this out at lunch… Oh I love it! There’s a variety of great character-ful reverbs in here. I particularly appreciate the well-curated range of presets. Just enough variety to find the kind of sound you’re looking for without getting caught up in too much similarity.

As usual I appreciate the UX. I use Waves half for the sound, but the other half for usability and reliability which is important to me. I find this reverb to be easy to adjust, and the UI pagination is well-thought out.

Back to the sound, though – at first I thought Greg Wells had to be exaggerating when I heard his description of Atlas Reverb but no… it really is that good!

This is enough to make me reapproach how I compose music. Instead of writing and adding reverb after, there are reverbs in here I want to build whole songs around. Using it up front for character, rather than in the background for space and glue. (Although this reverb is great for that, too.)

Thanks for including it in Mercury, Waves. This is exactly why I keep my update plan going! I’ve always liked Waves reverbs, but this one is my new favorite!
