Please Waves, could you please change the look & feel of the new V17 update? It really doesn’t look good 
. The functionality is fine, and there are actually some nice improvements, but visually it just doesn’t look polished or professional. On the Classic, it looks like the aspect ratio is off, and everything seems to be using a font that was taken straight out of Paint from the 1990s.
Are there any other users here who feel the same way?
I’m really not a huge fan of the new look either but maybe it’ll grow on me. The whole interface feels cluttered. It looks like they gave it to Claude code and asked it to improve the UI.
Yeah, there are a few bits of polish that would really help, though overall I’m okay with it. The font feels a touch wide, which is probably giving the off-aspect-ratio feeling, and the clock being randomly in a different font is weird (I’m assuming it’s for the sake of being monospaced, but the different style is unnecessary).
I’d love for some of the buttons around the edge to extend to the edge - there’s a deadzone that makes the mixer/all/channel buttons harder targets, about a centimetre of space where I can tap that registers as the edge of the screen, but nothing responds. I’m sure the old buttons used to.
I do like the new colours, it feels much easier to see the numbers I’m looking for and ignore the extra noise of the framing. The small faders mode is much better for when you’ve got real faders (why waste half the screen showing me the same thing I can just reach out and touch?). I can put up with some of the yet-to-be-polished pieces for that.
Most UI changes start with this kind of reaction (I’ve been involved in a few at my own work). Don’t take that as criticism for having had the reaction, it’s totally justified, but it’s also not going to change back and you will eventually get used to it. But we can and should point out specific things that are off, since those are the things that may well get fixed - it’s guaranteed that the team missed some things or didn’t have time to fix everything they wanted, so when they hear about the ones that we actually notice and care about, they can prioritise.
Can’t imagine putting it on a smaller screen than the LV1C though. Maybe it scales nicely, but it’s certainly designed for using every available pixel (apart from the round corners).
